The United States Association of Licensed Psychotherapy Providers (USALPP) is a not-for-profit professional association (in development - 501(c)(6) pending application) that exists to unite, support, and advocate for all licensed psychotherapy providers across the USA —regardless of discipline or professional affiliation.
We promote the shared identity, visibility, and voice of licensed psychotherapists working in clinical, community, and private practice settings. By fostering connection across license types, USALPP strengthens our collective impact, advances the profession of psychotherapy, and supports the well-being and success of those who provide psychotherapeutic care services throughout the United States.

Our Listservs, accessible via web portal or email, are for licensed psychotherapists anywhere in the United States in order to connect nationally and in their states of operation, facilitate referrals, share resources, and organize community with other members of the Association. Just fill in the form below for admission. The system is private and we will not collect data on participants without consent. You can change your subscription settings or unsubscribe at any time.
At this time, these listservs are free of charge to any licensed psychotherapist (including associates/provisionally licensed) while we are organizing membership of the association. Once the Association's working group has completed and ratified bylaws, members will need to pay dues (to be determined by the Board with membership input) to continue to have access. We encourage anyone considering membership to this associate to start participating in these listservs.
Some areas have a large volume of participants while others are growing. In any case, we welcome you to connect, share resources and organize!

We envision all licensed psychotherapy providers being recognized nationally and in every US jurisdiction as essential, empowered professionals—connected across disciplines, supported in their work and advocacy, and united in shaping the future of mental health care.
We believe that psychotherapy as a field is stronger when licensed psychotherapy professionals—regardless of their training or title—come together in solidarity. Our strength lies in our shared commitment to healing. This includes everyone licensed to practice psychotherapy the Boards of Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Medicine, Nursing, Physicians Assistants, and Pastoral Counseling.
We uphold high standards of ethical, competent, and compassionate practice within our respective professional scopes. We support lifelong learning, reflective practice, and professional excellence in every setting. We support advancing research and ongoing scientific validation and exploration of established and emerging practices, while also affirming the art of each psychotherapist’s practice.
We advocate for policies and public awareness that elevate psychotherapy as a vital and skilled profession—worthy of fair pay, strong representation, and systemic support.
We are committed to dismantling barriers to inclusive care, leadership, and treatment practices. We seek to amplify voices historically underrepresented in the field and to build an association that reflects the diversity of our communities, and to protect clients and providers from exploitation and/or abuse.
We value the relationships between psychotherapists—supporting each other through consultation, collaboration, mentorship, and sharing resources and lived experiences.
We believe the health of the profession depends on the resourcing of its providers. We advocate for inclusive self-determined working conditions, fair compensation, equitable access to legal consultation, and an array of services that sustain licensed psychotherapists.
We are proudly interdisciplinary and unaffiliated with any one professional board or licensing path. At the same time, we honor and partner with existing professional organizations and licensure boards of licensed psychotherapists to strengthen the whole ecosystem of mental health care.
We support high quality professional development for all licensed psychotherapists at all stages of career development. This includes advocating for and developing where necessary continuing education & training programs, consultation, standards of care, and universal ethics to help advance and protect the profession of psychotherapy.
We exist to serve any and all licensed psychotherapy providers in the United States. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions for us, please do not hesitate to reach out and will respond as quickly as we can!
